Jim began his franchise career over 20 years ago as a Franchise Sales Director with Cendant Corporation, a large New Jersey-based franchisor of numerous hotel, real estate, and rental car brands. Jim played a critical role in helping Cendant build brand presence throughout the Southeast region by increasing business through mergers and acquisitions.
Franchisees in the region also looked to him to provide key market analysis, site selection and ongoing operations support.
More recently, Jim played an integral part in the start-up of SmartHouse, Inc., a home automation company.
As Vice President of Franchise Sales, he was responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training the franchise sales force that rolled the brand out nationally. During the first year of the business, and with limited resources, Jim brought on many new franchisees himself, and throughout the start-up phase he provided wide-ranging developmental support. He was instrumental in the creation of SmartHouse’s Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) and numerous marketing and training programs.
Today, as a franchise consultant Jim focuses his extensive knowledge of the franchise industry on offering expert advice to individuals pursuing business ownership through franchising. He works one-one-one with each entrepreneur to develop a profile of their skills, interests and investment range. Jim matches each client with well-suited franchise opportunities through a customized search process. He personally guides them through the franchise selection process, providing expert franchise advice, professional coaching, practical franchise education and other resources along the way.
An Ohio native, Jim Judy and his wife live in Raleigh, NC. When he isn’t working with individuals seeking business ownership, Jim enjoys traveling, playing golf, and is an avid sports fan.
